What I Learned Today...
The Grand Canyon is in Utah. No really, I thought it was in Arizona. Yes I'm embarrassed. Not embarrassed enough to not put it on the internet though. My degree is not in geography. Maybe instead of spending so much time on the book of faces and looking up paleo recipes, I should start reading maps.

I feel like this means you can no longer make fun of me for thinking you were in OR when you went to Seattle...

first.... i am SO incredibly happy you posted i could cry. omg.. i feel like a groupie at a concert w/ smeary mascara... I LOVE YOU MUNCHKIN!
2nd... i live in AZ. (it's in my name) and i know that the grand canyon resembles UT red rocks more than here, but obviously it's in AZ.
i'm not speaking from experience bc i've not actually been there, but it has to be... our license plates say: The Grand Canyon State.
Then how come I saw on the news that the state of Utah was forking over money to keep it "open?" Does it cross state lines?
there is literally nothing up there on this side. Just the Grand Canyon, so maybe UT reaps some of the tourist benefits? i will GTS.... (google that s.... )
TO BE CONTINUED...
Here's the thing. It is the Grand Canyon. You don't have to OPEN it. It is a HUGE hole. We went on Thanksgiving Day one year. We drove around one of the rims. I can't remember which rim. We did not take a tour. The shops were open to rip people off. But, we could see the Grand Canyon on our own. I mean, it is hard to miss. Big, big hole.
