Help Needed

Sorry for the sabbatical. I was on a little vacation.

I came home. There's no food. I asked for suggestions. I got nothing. I'm going grocery shopping tomorrow. I've been on allrecipes.com for over an hour. I know Mrs. did this recipe thing a little while ago but I don't feel like searching back through. I need things that are light (I'm trying to eat better), quick (I get home not early), and require not a crap ton of ingredients (see "no food"). Most importantly I would like different. We've done tacos. We've done (turkey) burgers. We've done spaghetti. Things with spices, flavor... that's what I'm looking for. I have a closet desire to be a phenomenal chef.

Thoughts?

Welcome back Muchkin! Late Happy Birthday to you. Hope you are rested and ready to face the world again.
Sorry no recipes for you. I'm not much of a cook. I will cook slices of chicken breast, season and eat with a salad. That is cooking for me.

Use your crockpot. Get something going in the morning, and it will be ready when you get home. Also, we love seasoned pork tenderloins, but they take about an hour to bake. They aren't as good in the crockpot.

I second the crock pot. My healthy favorite: chicken tacos. Take chicken breasts, cover with one packet taco seasoning & one small jar of your favorite salsa. Shred when cooked through & serve on warm tortillas with desired toppings. It doesn't take long to cook though so if Big Bad put it on at lunch time it would be ready by 5ish. Reheats nicely.

I'll try to think of more ideas, but here's a thought. I went through a phase were I spent Sundays meal planning for the upcoming week including grocery shopping, food prep (especially cleaning & chopping veggies), and even pre-making meals. Sucks up some valuable down time on the weekend but it was always worth it on those weekdays when the thought of preparing a meal from scratch at 5 pm sounded as much fun as a root canal. I really need to get back to that routine...

I frankly don't give a bleep what you eat and Coco told me, I am no longer allowed to comment on your blog, because you didn't wish her a Happy Birthday while you were frolicking in the Florida ocean. She also said, you are no longer allowed to soak up her Coco cuteness in church. Now, you just have to pay attention to Father.

Also,
seriously??? You just returned from Florida and your first blog post is about dinner ideas? Post some pictures or something fun.

Munchkin now Equals Lame.

I didn't have my computer in FL and maybe the blogger is a little bitter about not getting a birthday blog and maybe the food thing is a pressing issue in my life and maybe I'm working on a how to use the airport tutorial that I haven't had an abundance of time to write because I've been a little busy since I got back and maybe you should BACK UP OFF THIS

Check out this post from Tina. She's a kick ass cook and provided several recipes to add to the rotation:

I hope you weren't waiting on me for your birthday blog?? I have 29 family members I am responsible for... and they are still breeding more.
You need to look at Life and Times, for your bday blog. If I started posting for every cousin-in-law... I would change my name to "Tru Stories of Celebrating Every Day Coach's relatives Were Born."
That's not so catchy.
