Step Fifteen

Develop a foot thing. Rest for four or five days, let a little healing happen and get back to it. Run five minutes after five days rest and come reasonably close to cutting foot off so that it does not get in the way of training. Go to physical therapist next door to work, have her check it out, do an ultrasound to check for stress fractures and find nothing. Reconsider excising foot. Drive to Savoy on your day off and fall in love with Body N Sole sports. Find out the super fly shoes you bought a month ago are crap. Burn those. Have awesome staff check your foot structure, watch you walk and run, recommend/have you try on approximately fifteen pairs of shoes, have you go outside and run around the parking lot in them. After talking awhile about pains and work environments and other related issues, find out you may have developed plantar fasciitis. Buy another new pair of running shoes with all sorts of support that is supposed to help with issues.

Why? Because I will freaking finish this race. And I will finish it without walking and in a respectable amount of time.

I think you should throw in the towel and start doing zumba with me. I don't look so stupid anymore.
