This morning I signed up for the Christie Clinic Illinois Marathon 10k. Yes, that is 1.2 miles farther than I ran (walked) last summer.
Thus far, in preparation, I have bought a treadmill, read the training schedule for running a 10k, put treadmill together, thought about what I'm going to wear, stared at treadmill, thought about what to add to my Ipod for the race, checked to make sure the fan on the treadmill works, and looked online for new running shoes.
Right on schedule.

Great Job.
So far you are right on track for the training program I used last summer. Except, you still need to purchase and consider reading a few marathon books.
And gosh knows the program worked for me. I ran/walked the 5mile in what... 2... maybe 3 hours.
It was impressive.
Maybe if I get snowed in tomorrow I can start my winter exercise program.
you should also: look for your sweatband, have the dog test out the treadmill (for your own safety), get yourself some good socks, think about all the other things you could do other than running...
You have a freakin fan on your treadmill????
Munchkin.....We are the same height, I think we might be twins..
Old Lady
Committed!! I like that!
I'm too lazy to run also...
I am still confused why everyone still signs up for these stupid races, we all obviously hate it. The only thing that really comes out of it is some blog material.
i do it for the blog material only
