A Typical Night Out...

So Big Bad and I went to Chili's tonight for their 2 for $20 deal. We arrived in Morris to find a minimum twenty minute wait so I suggested we opt to just sit at the bar. As soon as we found to open stools, you could see all the other patrons and workers playing "daughter or mistress" in their heads. Or more like "how old is that boy with that man? He doesn't have any facial hair, but he is greying on top." I wasn't wearing any make up.
It probably took about ten minutes for the bartender to even get us drinks. I mean, I know your busy guys but I did politely ask you if we could eat our meals at the bar before we sat down. We get our appetizer, which is slightly burnt on top and my ball park of time spent under the infrared lamp is approximately 10 minutes. Did I mention the lack of silverware or napkin? By about halfway through the Texas Cheese Fries (which are super salty and contain jalapenos) I had finished my first glass of strawberry lemonade. Nothing. I set it on the edge of the bar. Nothing. The two people sitting on either side of us get refills. Finally I get a refill. Then our food comes. Still no silverware or napkins. Luckily my cup of rice came with a soup spoon, which I also used to eat my mashed potatoes.
Then there's this guy. He starts yelling at the bartender because his Long Island Iced Tea doesn't taste like iced tea. Are you bleeping kidding me? After he yells at the bartender for a while and then continues to speak loudly about his unhappiness. I may have gotten a little perturbed by his ignorance and politely said (yelled) that he should possibly try to keep his voice down (shut the hell up) and that these poor bartenders have bosses to answer to just like everybody else. Two seconds later I had a fresh strawberry lemonade sitting in front of me and a bartender asking if there was anything else he could get us. Apparently I should've started yelling earlier.

Best part - on the way home Big Bad asked if I thought I could've "taken" the guy.

Thank you for reminding me why taking you and The General out in public together - especially when costumer service is required - is not always the wisest of ideas.
