A Walk Down Memory Lane

I don't like to post things that would be considered "Debbie Downer," but I just watched the rerun of ER where Marc Greene dies and I got to thinking about the past... in a good way don't worry. The segment of flashbacks made me do a little flash-backing of my own.

I remember one time in seventh grade or so when I opened my standard brown bag lunch of a turkey on white bread sandwich with one slice of Oscar Meyer lunch meat turkey, a baggy of plain Lays potato chips and three chocolate chip cookies. As I bit into my sandwich I realized there was no meat. Who was I to complain, I got my lunch packed for me on a daily basis for nine straight years. Although I'm sure I gave Mom crap about it when I got home... and she just laughed.

Share a memory of your own.

Yes, you did give her crap about it. I was there when you gave her the "I was the fifth children of five and savagely neglected because my sandwich had no turkey" story. What surprises me is that she didn't cut any cheese for your sandwich either. :)

That ER episode goes down as the saddest thing I've ever seen on television (not counting a showing of Steel Magnolias).

Does anyone remember coming home from a date or night out with friends and the conversations at Mom and Dad's bedroom door? And then we had the exact same conversations with Mom at the kitchen table the next morning :)

And oh how quickly those days are approaching for us!
