I think I will take this opportunity to take a quick informal survey. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being "Van Wilder" and 1 being "Wesleyan" (zing), how would you rate your alma mater?
I know you're thinking what ridiculous rant is about to follow. Well I would LOVE to get into all the reasons why I would rank my hopefully SOON to be alma mater around -8377499373688474663929 (that's actually one number for each thing I don't like), but I do still have a therapeutics exam tomorrow so I don't have time. Besides that, there are particular reasons I do not feel it necessary to divulge on my blog. Yes this will surely be the topic of the much anticipated "Thanksgiving Dinner Rant" coming to a Moulton St. near you.
Anyway, back to the original point of this blog... I originally began to type this because for an assignment that was due this morning I had to create a patient education video which focused more on our ability (or lack-there-of) to copy, edit, burn movies and less on our knowledge and capability to actually counsel said patients. We were supposed to burn the final product to a DVD so we could watch them in class, but the audio on ours didn't convert so it didn't work. THANK GOD FOR YOUTUBE!! I actually uploaded the video during class and we were able to watch it. So, do you know all you need to know about immunizations? If not, go to youtube.com and search the title "Immunizations and You." It will be the first option after the search, but I warn you, it's a long ten minutes.

First of all, I think you might have the most boring name on campus.
Secondly, I can't count the number of times I thought to myself, "OMG, that mannerism is just like The General's".
Thirdly, those (fake) smiles at the end of each narrative? Painful.
Finally, U of I? Totally rockin' the 10. I'm not ranking grad school because grad school sucks no matter where you go.
PS - Who's bringing the wine to Thanksgiving? Sounds like we might need some.
Ok, if a 10 is van wilder (well can any place really live up to that?), I would give Indiana Univ. a 9 absolutely. Couldn't have pictured my college experience any better or any more full of shenanigans and tomfoolery. Plus I think I might have had something to do with the #1 party school in the nation ranking my junior year :)
Not to mention the academics of course-Public Harvard of the Midwest- Holla
I'm hurt.
Maybe we should make sure there is plenty of cheese at thanksgiving as there will be plenty of whine to go round. As for "Wesleyan" being 1, isn't that a good thing? As for ratings, the U of I so out distanced the other learning experience I had in the early 70's, I was very happy to get back to her after my 4 month education in South Carolina.
is anyone else picturing dad with chops right now?
Remember, I was in the National Guard from the fall of 69 to the fall of 75. No chops. Sorry, but they weren't allowed.
University of Illinois - 11/10.
I'm not picturing chops, but I am singing Summer of '69 now!
