First Day of School...

Today marked the first organized educational experience for Prada. She attended her first obedience class at Petco. After arriving I assessed the class which consists of five dogs. Prada is by far the big bully of the class and I could punt three of the other dogs. Who takes a yorkie to obedience school?? I pretty much had to hold her down while the teacher was talking. At class, we learned sit and stay (both of which she already knew and excelled at, I can even put a treat on the ground and she won't touch it until I tell her to). We then practiced walking on a leash. This we don't so much excel at, which is obvious by what we came home with.

Now before you go judging me for being cruel to animals, it made a tremendous difference. As it turns out, Prada listens decently well when metal prongs are being shoved into her neck. By the end of class though, she layed down in the middle of the circle and looked very sweet and adorable. The teacher couldn't believe she isn't a well behaved dog. HA!!! I guess it is always a parent's want to have their child well behaved in public. Now, if we could just get a little bit of that at home, it would be GREAT!!
