Presentation Help...

I have a mini-presentation to give on Friday about giving medicines to children. I was wondering if any of you wonderful mothers out there who's kids are always sick have any particular methods that work well for them. (Besides the fact that flavored Tylenol is fantastic.)

We love Advil around here. Chewable Tylenol makes John puke. Don't know why. They pretty much all taste good, so it's not much of a problem getting them to take the medicine (esp. the ibuprofen). Sometimes if they have a fever, we'll alternate Tylenol and Advil every few hours. The children's cough and cold medicines really just don't work, but the otc allergy meds are effective (but don't taste as good).

I'm not much help here, as both the girls love to take medicine. In fact, McKenna requests it on almost a daily basis, sick or not. I think the flavoring helps. We're yet to move on to anything other than medication in liquid form.

And 12 hours into our administration of Mucinex, I'm going to agree with MC about the effectiveness of cough medicine. Elaina sounds just as bad today as she did yesterday. In fact, she slept with us last night and I was fairly certain she had either a)stopped breathing or b)turned into a seal due to the barking noises she was making.

Oh! We like using the saline nose spray when they're really congested. Really loosens things up.
