Tonight in a quest to further my fitness, but more so to win my prize for beating the Bride in our little side contest, I spent the night with Tony. Thursday is yoga night no matter what track you're following. Believe me, I fully intended to follow the yoga-less track (whatever it may be) of P90x (or for me P365x), but classic, lean, and steroid-clouded brain all use yoga. I know, I know it's good for flexibility and breathing. I know don't about you, but when I'm in ducking-pigeon-kiss-my-own-ass (as I referred to in a previous post that ended with a pulled hamstring), I can't breathe. I'm fairly sure that I'm darn near hypoxic by the end of that pose.
A suggestion Tony normally makes for yoga novices is to use yoga blocks. For those of you that are unfamiliar, they are about cinder-block in size and made of a firm foam or something to make you not have to stretch as far. Personally, I would rather use one of my coffee tables.
It makes my feet hurt when I wear shoes, but I can't get good footing without shoes. Which results in hurting myself even more. I made it through a half hour, by which time I had done so many vinyasa's that my arms went numb.
I remember a time when I could run ten miles in 90 degree weather... or at least lift more than five pounds.
Better luck next time.
